The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers towards the community.
SASSA will likely be rendering solutions such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency explained it is alarmed in regards to the substantial variety of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The purpose of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no totally functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The support place produced for intervention encounters a significant inflow of possible beneficiaries, which makes it read more tricky for the office to attend to all people who pay a visit to a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional means to allow the servicing of all consumers and raise usage of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
